San Patricio MRI & CT Center se enorgullece en informar al público en general y a los médicos que nos refieren, particularmente a los pneumólogos, internistas y médicos de familia y geriatría, que cuenta con los servicios de interpretación profesional radiológica de la Dra. Vivian Rivera Rivera.
La Dra. Rivera es puertorriqueña y regresa a Puerto Rico de Newark Beth Israel Medical Center en New Jersey en donde se desempeñara como Directora del Programa de Residencia del programa de Radiología Diagnóstica desde el 2005. En dicha institución, obtuvo el puesto de Assistant Professor de Radiología desde el 2002 estando a cargo de preparar conferencias para los residentes, los grand rounds, tumor boards y conferencias de morbilidad y mortalidad.
La Dra. Rivera Rivera cuenta con un fellowship en imagenología del tórax (pecho), apenas hay un puñado de radiólogos en Puerto Rico habiendo completado dicha subespecialidad dentro de la radiología diagnóstica. Completó su fellowship exitósamente en Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York. Por otro lado, la doctora completó su residencia de radiología diagnóstica en St. Vincent Hospital, New York, habiendo sido jefa de los residentes (Chief Resident) durante su último año.
San Patricio MRI & CT Center se enorgullece grandemente de poder contar con la Dra. Vivian Rivera como parte de su facultad médica a partir de enero de 2010 y le extiende una cordial bienvenida. Su presencia complementará los servicios subespecializados radiológicos ya disponibles en este centro de imágenes de avanzada tecnología y trato personalizado hacia pacientes como médicos referidores.

We are pioneers in the local imaging industry, offering the first hybrid PT-CT scanner in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The "Biograph 16" remains the fastest and most efficient PET-CT scanner in the Island.
The obtained resolution remains the best given our HI REZ PET crystals: this means that our PET scanner is able to evaluate nodules as small as 5 millimeters.

| CT and MRI |

CT and MRI are radiologic modalities that allow the noninvasive detection of some forms of cancer, infection, inflammation, trauma, cysts, surgical complications, and congenital conditions among others.
While CT uses X rays, MRI uses magnetic fields, radiofrequency pulses and variations in gradient strength to generate anatomic images.
Our CT scanner is spiral and multidetector. Our MRI scanners are of high magnetic field and boast high performance gradients.

Ultrasound
|
DEXA SCAN - scan is used to measure the density of bones. It is mainly used to diagnose osteoporosis (loss of bone material) and to assess your risk of having a fracture.
General and Vascular Ultrasound - vascular ultrasound and some general ultrasound tests are available at our imaging center .
New Nuclear Medicine Services, 3 Tesla MRI & Coronary Angiography CT (CCTA) will be available at our new Imaging Center in 2010.

| Who Interprets the Studies Performed at our Imaging Center? |
 |
Radiology doctors are in charge of MRI, CT and sonography studies. A nuclear medicine doctor and a radiology doctor are in charge of PET-CT scans. These are the physicians who interpret the studies.
All our physicians are American Board Certified and one has the Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology.
All our hybrid PET-CT scans are interpreted jointly by our nuclear medicine physician Dr. Carlos Jiménez and at least one radiologist, a combination that has set a precedent in Puerto Rico, obtaining the most complete interpretation and the most reliable recommendations. This team approach allows a comprehensive review of imaging studies performed prior to the PET-CT and optimizes advise for follow-up studies. Press here for more information.
