Durante el recorrido de los pasados diez años, SAN PATRICIO MRI & CT CENTER, ahora SAN PATRICIO MEDFLIX, ha tenido el privilegio de ofrecer exitosamente servicios de imágenes avanzadas a la comunidad puertorriqueña y países aledaños. Nuestro norte ha sido humanizar la experiencia de pacientes de todas las edades y rincones de Puerto Rico, muchos no habiendo logrado completar su estudio satisfactoriamente en otras facilidades. También ha sido un estrechar de lazos de comunicación y educación con médicos generalistas y especialistas.
Mucho antes de ser compulsorias las acreditaciones de equipos de imágenes, nos sometimos voluntariamente al crisol del Colegio Americano de Radiología (ACR) para validar nuestra rigurosidad y calidad de procesos, incluyendo el haber sido la única facilidad en contar con dicha acreditación para la tomografía por emisión de positrones (PET) en la Isla hasta el 2010. Al presente nuestra facilidad es la única en contar con la acreditación de MRI cardiaco y una de las escasas en contar con la acreditación de CT cardiaco.
El centro ha sido innovador incorporando conceptos de diversas industrias no relacionadas a la medicina para llevar el servicio al paciente a nuevos niveles. Nuestro nombre y logo evolucionan a SAN PATRICIO MEDFLIX reflejando que no nos limitarnos a MRI y CT. MEDFLIX es apócope de “MED = medicina” y “FLIX = cine”, el término destacando la cualidad multidimensional de los estudios más avanzados disponibles algunos siendo desplegados en formato cinematográfico añadiendo valiosa información diagnóstica.
Nos honra ser parte de la obra de St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital y ser solidarios con varias esferas del deporte de Puerto Rico, destacándose el Comité Olímpico y el Baloncesto Superior Nacional, entre otros. Habiendo inaugurado nuevas facilidades, contamos con nuevos bríos para continuar ofreciendo servicios de excelencia como usted ustedes se merecen.

MEDICAL DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE
During the course of the past ten years, San Patricio MRI & CT CENTER, now SAN PATRICIO MEDFLIX, has had the privilege to successfully provide advanced imaging services to the Puerto Rican community and neighboring countries. Our motivation has been to humanize the patients’ experience of all ages and corners of Puerto Rico, many having failed to successfully complete their study in other facilities. It has also strengthened communication and education links with general practitioners and specialists.
Long before accreditation of imaging equipment became compulsory, we submitted voluntarily to the crucible of the American College of Radiology (ACR) to validate our thoroughness and quality of processes, including being the only facility in having this accreditation for the positron emission tomography (PET) on the Island until 2010. Currently our facility remains the only one boasting cardiac MRI accreditation and one is one of the few to be accredited for cardiac CT.
The center has been incorporated innovative concepts from various industries unrelated to medicine driving patient care and service to new levels. Our name and logo SAN PATRICIO MEDFLIX had to evolve to reflect that we do not limit ourselves to MRI and CT. MEDFLIX is short for "MED = medicine" and "FLIX = movie" the term highlighting the multidimensional quality of our advanced studies offering, some displayed in cinematographic format adding valuable diagnostic information.
We are honored to be part of the work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and to hold special alliances with several sport’s teams in Puerto Rico, among which most notably feature the Puerto Rico Olympic Committee and the National Superior Basketball League, among others. Launching our new facilities has inspired us to continue providing you with superb quality service with renewed impetus you so deserve. Our best recommendations come from our patients’ testimony.

CT and MRI are radiologic modalities that allow the noninvasive detection of some forms of cancer, infection, inflammation, trauma, cysts, surgical complications, and congenital conditions among others.
While CT uses X rays, MRI uses magnetic fields, radiofrequency pulses and variations in gradient strength to generate anatomic images.
Our CT scanner is spiral and multidetector. Our MRI scanners are of high magnetic field and boast high performance gradients.

DEXA SCAN - scan is used to measure the density of bones. It is mainly used to diagnose osteoporosis (loss of bone material) and to assess your risk of having a fracture.
General and Vascular Ultrasound - vascular ultrasound and some general ultrasound tests are available at our imaging center .

| Who Interprets the Studies Performed at our Imaging Center? |
 |
Radiology doctors are in charge of MRI, CT and sonography studies. A nuclear medicine doctor and a radiology doctor are in charge of PET-CT scans. These are the physicians who interpret the studies.
All our physicians are American Board Certified and one has the Certificate of Added Qualification in Neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology.
All our hybrid PET-CT scans are interpreted jointly by our nuclear medicine physician Dr. Carlos Jiménez and at least one radiologist, a combination that has set a precedent in Puerto Rico, obtaining the most complete interpretation and the most reliable recommendations. This team approach allows a comprehensive review of imaging studies performed prior to the PET-CT and optimizes advise for follow-up studies. Press here for more information.
